KTV Session & Birthday Celebration

It has been about 3 months since I last sang with the group. This session was the most unique session that I have done as even though my partner, Jonathan Teo was down with flu, and was not able to make it for today’s session.

The reason for its uniqueness is because :-

  1. For the 1st time , the manager of the outlet has given me the flexibility of opening up the number of rooms that I need for the session. Maybe  there was really a lack of business since KBox opened another branch at Orchard Parade Hotel.
  2. He has told us that he will be offering us more discount if we continued our patronage there.
  3. For the 1st time, I used sms to book a room after the manager gave me his handphone number for ease of booking. This meant that I need not go down from my office to the branch to book the room.

So for the 1st time, I had the flexibility to choose from 2 rows of KTV rooms at Partyworld International Building.

I certainly hope the new members, Chin Yuan, Karyne, Hong Choon,, Estella, Karen Hui’s friend, Ivy’s friend & Song Xin enjoyed the session with us. 

My apologies if I didn’t manage to cater to your requests and needs.  Till the next session then.

There are certain things which some Chinese are pretty particular with:- Happy and sad events can't clash together within 100 days to a year. If a relative or loved one were to pass away, the immediate family member can't attend a happy event, like wedding & housewarming. The Teochews treat their eldest male grandchild as their youngest son. If you are getting married & your friend who is getting married invites you to his wedding, u are not allowed to attend. The old people say happy events clash. The red packet can't be given twice for a happy event. Likewise for the condolence packet. One should not give shoes or lamp to a birthday boy or gal, as it is believed that you may bring the person to his deathbed. These are some interesting stuff to share, especially to some blog readers who are not living in a place filled with Chinese.

Movie Outing Plan With Fellow Blogger Friends

I guess Darling, SR & Rich want to watch "Memiors of A Geisha", especially after the ladies were so engrossed in the book at MPH during our last meeting. It can be afternoon or nite show, but afternoon is preferred as I would like to avoid the crowd shopping for CNY goodies & clothes. I would like to call the following people. House Visiting & AVietnamese Girlfriend For Me??

I started my day early today at 8.30am. I was helping my mum with the flower decoration & slept at 1am last night. Had received CNY sms messages from my ex colleague, LS, Angela, Rebecca, Darling, Caifeng, Huixuan, Huiyu, Mac, Jaslyn, Joey, Candy , Kelvin, Rich & Mike. Thanks for all your well wishes, my friends. The 1st stop was at my grandma's place, which we were lucky to get a cab almost immediately after waiting for just a short while. In the ride, my mum & I were chatting casually about some issues that happened in S'pore recently, when we actually touched on the old cobbler cheating Vietnamese gals to be his bride. The cabby told us an incident that happened to his friend. His friend, a guy aged 39 had married a Thai gal aged 23 some years ago. Soon after, they became parents to a baby boy.
