Meet Up With ACCA Classmates

This meet up was hastily arranged as my classmate, Elaine had requested that we meet up before she becomes a mummy next month. Therefore I hastily messaged Tammy & Peggy the next day, checking if they are available on any of the days mentioned by the mummy to be. I was a little surprised that both Tammy & Peggy agreed to the meet up almost immediately after receiving my sms, with Tammy stating that she is excited about seeing Elaine, while all of us are excited to catch up with Peggy after she missed the last 2 gatherings with us at Sun & Moon @ Wheelock Place and @ Carousel @ Royal Plaza on Scotts.

Dinner was at Big O Cafe at Wheelock Place, as the mummy to be said she can’t take raw food for the time being. I was there a little late, as I was trying to clear a complex tax provision, but due to its complexity, and diverse business, I was not able to complete it today.

We had a good time catching up with one another, as we have not met one another for about 8 months. In Peggy’s case, it was about a year since we last met her. We asked her how she was doing at RWS. We were a little surprised to hear that Tammy had resigned from her job, but after hearing what had happened before her resignation, we felt that she made the right decision to quit.

I would like to thank Peggy for giving us the dinner treat. Initially, I thought that she had just wanted to earn points by paying with her credit card, but when Tammy tried to pay her for her share, she kept the bill away from us. This made all of us feel bad.

We took a photo for keepsake with Peggy’s camera before we parted ways, promising to meet up when Elaine gives birth next month. I would like to thank Elaine for giving me a ride home. :-)

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
