KTV & Delicious Dinner Sat

My work week was rather okay. It was just that my colleague sitting beside me had asked me to check with my boss when she was planning to give the CNY off and to when it will restart the work after the CNY off.

Personally, I felt that I should not be the one asking as I am not like the majority of my colleagues, who are foreigners, with most of them being Malaysians. I am a Singaporean, so I should be celebrating my CNY in Singapore, as my relatives and friends are mostly in Singapore. Furthermore, my manager and & I had successfully helped our colleagues to negotiate for early release from work for Christmas Eve & New Year Eve, citing the heavy traffic anticipated at Orchard Road during these 2 days. Therefore, we should not be the ones asking for you all again.

Decided to let off the anger that has been stored for quite a while by singing again. Since I am taking a break from organising for my group activities for a while, due to our busy schedules. I joined the other group that is pretty active on Facebook, KTV Club SG to sing.

My 2nd time joining was really fun. I have to thank the organisers, Nigel & Hacktor for the arrangement to put me with Lance, Chloe & Gonnie as although I know some of the others, as they have joined the group ktv events that I have been organising, I feel more comfortable with them atound, and it was really fun.

Lance & I had been asked by Chloe to participate in the KTV Club’s new game segment. Fortunately, the task that I was asked to do was not that difficult. The task was to get a person with the surname “Tan” from another room to sing a duet with him/her. Luckily, I managed to find Serene, who came to our group’s last outing to sing with me. The prize for completing the task, a handphone strap.

Was surprised that Lance attempted this duet. I thought he did well, considering the female part with the 京剧 voice was a killer !!!

After the session, I was invited by my ex-client to have dinner with him at Ang Mo Kio. I was surprised that you are able to find cheap and good western food in a restaurant at the void deck of a HDB block.

I joined the Facebook Foodies Club for dinner at Bacchus last night. Yesterday was with a smaller group of people with 11 people. It meant that I had a chance to interact with people and enjoy good food at the same time. I certainly had a good time knowing Deborah, Rene, Wenna, Chris & Catherine. The good part was having my singing buddy, Jonathan around as well, making me able to enjoy the dinner and making friends with relative ease. I must say I enjoyed the food, that I ordered. I ordered the Flumuken,Bawhrust susages and tiramisu cake. You must be thinking that why I ordered so much food. I must say I was very hungry as I didn’t have a filling lunch. Although, it burned a hole in my pocket, but it is certainly good to indulge in myself sometimes! I like the ambience of the restuarant. My Hosting Script for The National Day Event

I just managed to work out the draft hosting script for the National Day Event I am hosting. I am thankful for all the comments that I have received from my fellow RC members and friends. Just feel that sometimes, no matter whatever you do, some people, no matter for what reasons, will not be happy with the arrangements. I just wish to say that I am already trying my best to try to get this event going, considering the fact, that this is the 1st time I am organising an RC event. I have also tried my best, despite the fact that I would like to have a free hand to organise the event, just like what I usually do for the KTV events I have on Facebook, I accommodated to the requests that I should somehow follow the past years’ format to do the event. I know that I am not very familiar with how things are run at the RC, therefore in the end, my organising committee only made some changes to the event as we had a limited budget to work on. June Musings

 It has been a while since I last blogged. Since then, I am settling well into my role, although there were some incomings and outgoings, which are common in any workplace.   I managed to catch a last glimpse of Yishun Orto before it closed on 30 June. I would like Leonard, Wendy & Michael, as without them performing at the Happiest Hour Bar & Bistro, I guess I would never go to this place, as I had not so fond memories of a nearby place during my NS days.   I did not manage to get A* Mei or Jacky Cheung concert tickets this round. It could be a sign for me to build up my savings again after an unstable 3 years on the job front. I hope to stay on this job for a while despite its lack of transport amenities and lack of shelters for rain as it is not often that you can have great teams of colleagues and bosses with whom you can get along well. I guess having a boss who is differently abled helps me to settle in well as colleagues tend to be more understanding and caring.
